How many images should you include in your wedding blog posts?
The simple answer to this question is: know your audience. What do they want to see? Check out this and other tips for creating awesome wedding blog posts.
Walk in their shoes
Getting into your reader’s head may not seem too complex, but it’s worth giving it some thought. Do they just want to see images? How much of a story do they want? Do they like big images or lots of small ones? In my experience, less is more. It keeps the readers excited for more! You know your market best, so stick with what your audience would want. And if you don’t know what they want: ask them!
Load time
What can your hosting handle? It’s all very well loading lots of beautiful images, but you will lose clients quickly if they are slow to load. They won’t want to wait five minutes for images to appear on the screen. So, make sure your hosting is set up for plenty of images. It will look much more professional and be a more pleasant experience for your current and future clients.
Surprise your readers with the unexpected
Doing something unconventional or a bit risqué can keep your readers hooked. For example, don’t include lots of bridal details or too many couple photos. Instead, throw in a quirky picture that really captures the emotion of the day. A blend of details and people is a safe way to go, but remember to mix it up, too.
Ask why you are sharing that image
By critically evaluating each photo you upload, you’re going to keep yourself in the perspective of your clients, which is precisely what you want! Keep thinking of your dream client and what they want to see and make sure it’s interesting so your audience will keep wanting more.
